What We Do

Natural gas is one of the most important sources of energy in North America.

Colorless and odorless in its purest form, natural gas is one of the cleanest, safest and most useful of all energy sources. It is also very versatile and cost-effective, which is why it has become so popular in today’s society. Natural gas is used in homes and businesses to heat our homes and offices, cook our food and generate electricity.

Natural gas is gathered, sometimes along with oil, by drilling deep into the Earth’s crust where pockets of natural gas are trapped. The gas is brought to the surface and refined to remove impurities, such as water, sand and other gases. Once it has been processed, natural gas is transported through pipelines that span the continent for distribution in communities like yours or sent to storage facilities for periods of higher demand, such as winter.
