Spectra Energy, one of North America’s premier natural gas infrastructure companies, is proposing to develop the South Peace Pipeline to connect one of the most active areas for producer exploration in northeast British Columbia with its existing transportation and processing infrastructure.
Spectra Energy is proposing to build a geographically strategic pipeline which will extend its existing raw gas gathering system in the Fort St. John resource area of northeast British Columbia to an area south of Spectra Energy’s McMahon gas processing plant located in Taylor, BC.
The South Peace Pipeline will consist of approximately 92.7 kilometres of 20-inch raw gas pipeline facilities, including pipeline segments south and north of an existing 12-inch pipeline, which crosses the Peace River approximately 1 kilometre downstream of Taylor, BC. The proposed facilities will be designed to safely and reliably transport sour natural gas with an anticipated H2S content of 5%.
