Egan Hub Storage, LLC (Egan Hub) received approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to develop and operate a new 8.2 billion cubic feet (Bcf) working gas capacity (10.5 Bcf total capacity) salt dome storage cavern (Cavern #3), a 16.52-mile, 24-inch diameter header, modifications to existing facilities (Texas Eastern Metering & Regulating station and East Metering & Regulating station), and associated facilities. Egan Hub is located on the Jennings Salt Dome in west-central Acadia Parish, in Evangeline, Louisiana. The completion of Cavern #3 will increase Egan Hub’s ability to provide firm storage services and interruptible hub services meeting the demand for storage in this region. The initial phase of Egan Cavern #3 was placed into service in 2009 with an initial 6.0 Bcf of capacity. Construction is underway on the associated facilities. Cavern #3 will be fully developed by 2012.
