Copiah Storage, an indirect, wholly owned subsidiary of Spectra Energy, is a proposed high deliverability salt cavern natural gas storage facility located in Copiah County, Mississippi. Copiah Storage received approval from FERC to expand its capacity from a currently authorized 3.3 billion cubic feet (Bcf) to 15.5 Bcf of natural gas.

Copiah Storage is strategically located to rapidly serve energy needs in the region and is positioned to help meet growing demand for natural gas in the southeastern U.S. and along the eastern seaboard. The project will offer customers access to growing onshore basins as well as liquefied natural gas and Gulf of Mexico sources, enhancing the security, reliability and flexibility of supply.

The proposed expansion will interconnect Copiah Storage with Texas Eastern Transmission (TETLP) and, as part of the project, with the proposed Southeast Supply Header (SESH).
