Spectra Energy Selects 2009 Scholarship Recipients
Ten Students to Receive Up to $20,000 during Four Consecutive Years of Undergraduate Studies in United States or Canada
HOUSTON – Spectra Energy (NYSE: SE) today announced ten children of company employees have been selected to receive up to $5,000 per year in scholarship funds toward undergraduate study at an accredited college or university in the United States or Canada.
As part of the Spectra Energy Scholars program, scholarship recipients are chosen annually by an independent committee of judges and must be graduating high school/secondary school seniors. The committee reviews and selects applicants based on their performance in academics, leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors and awards, work experience and financial need. The scholarships will provide the students up to $20,000 during their four years of undergraduate study.

Two other students were recognized for their achievements and will each receive a one-time $2,500 scholarship.
2009 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS:
Sean Britt of Pulaski, Tenn.—A student at Giles County High School, and the son of Benton Britt and Amy Clark-Britt.
Caleb Covington of Brookhaven, Miss.—A student at Brookhaven Academy, and the son of Kendall and Jennifer Covington.
Dustin Dubose of Longview, Texas—A student at Kilgore High School, and the son of John and Tammie Dubose.
Megan Grywalski of Summerfield, Ohio—A student at Shenandoah High School, and the daughter of Rick and Melinda Grywalski.
Victoria Hoffman of Chatham, Ontario—A student at Ursuline College, and the daughter of Jim and Diana Hoffman.
Courtney Janak of El Campo, Texas—A student at El Campo High School, and the daughter of Allan and Jeanie Janak.
Jasmine Moore of Holbrook, Penn.—A student at West Greene High School, and the daughter of Mark Moore and Sandra Moore.
Julia Roberts of Grand Bend, Ontario—A student at South Huron District High School, and the daughter of Brian and Carol Roberts.
Kristin Stevens of Chetwynd, British Columbia—A student at Chetwynd Secondary School, and the daughter of Arnold and Lauri Stevens.
Madeline Zivanov of Hamilton, Ontario—A student at Westmount Secondary School, and the daughter of Christine and Robert Zivanov.
ONE TIME RECIPIENTS:
Eduardo Garza, Jr. of Houston, Texas—A student at North Shore High Senior High School, and the son of Laura and Eduardo Garza.
Amanda Reid of Woodstock, New Brunswick—A student at Woodstock High School, and the daughter of Mark Reid and Gail Paul.
