Spectra Energy Names Joseph E. Ramsey Group Vice President, Project Execution
HOUSTON – Spectra Energy today announced that Joseph E. Ramsey has been appointed group vice president, project execution and will provide executive leadership for Spectra Energy Transmission’s newly created project execution group.
“We expect to place into service approximately $1.5 billion in new pipeline, gas processing, storage and distribution projects this year alone, and will be investing more than $1 billion of capital annually through 2010,” said Martha Wyrsch, president and chief executive officer, Spectra Energy Transmission.
“We’re laser-focused on bringing these projects in on time and on budget, and the creation of a new project execution group within Spectra Energy Transmission, combined with Joe’s extensive experience and expertise in managing complex projects, will be invaluable as we continue to execute effectively on our capital expenditure program,” Wyrsch added.
Ramsey, who will report to Wyrsch, will be responsible for the various functions related to major project execution including estimating and conceptual design, engineering financial services, engineering services and project construction for Spectra Energy Transmission.
Before joining Spectra Energy, Ramsey was managing director, Jacobs Consultancy where he led the worldwide energy and utilities consulting group. Prior to that he served as managing director for Stone & Webster Consultants where he also led the gas and utility consulting group. He also held senior executive positions at Tenneco Energy.

Ramsey holds a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering from the University of Houston and a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard University.
