Market Presence
EC5 Entry level wages Our lowest entry level wage in 2009 is $8.25 per hour for U.S. employees.  Federal minimum wage is $7.25 per hour as of July 24, 2009.

Indirect Economic Impacts
EC8 Investments for local benefit - infrastructure investments and services In 2009 we gave back more than $7.5 million to our communities through our philanthropic giving, matching gift programs and employee and retiree volunteerism. EC9 Indirect economic impacts Spectra Energy's indirect economic impacts are discussed in Deliver Superior Economic Results and Support and Engage Our Communities. Spectra Energy's charitable giving contributions also provide indirect economic impacts.

In addition, Union Gas's Demand-Side Management program creates benefits for the government and citizens of Ontario through the recovery of all the energy savings (electric, water and gas) as well as the costs of providing the program. This value is called Total Resource Cost (TRC). Since 1997, Union Gas has helped customers save an estimated $1.4 biillion through energy saving initiatives.
