Spectra Energy is committed to being a responsible environmental steward while helping to meet North America's increasing demand for natural gas. As part of this ongoing commitment, Spectra Energy pipelines are participating in a voluntary program to facilitate the development of compressor heat recovery for power generation as more fully detailed in the recently released INGAA White Paper entitled "Waste Heat Recovery Opportunities: Pipelines Present Energy Efficiency Proposal". As part of this proposal, Spectra Energy has posted a listing of its compressors (pdf, 40 KB) that meet or closely meet, the economic criteria set out in the white paper (at least 15,000 horsepower operating at or more than a 60% load factor rate).
Spectra Energy will jointly work with third-party developers to actively pursue such opportunities. Spectra Energy will also review this listing on a regular basis and update it as facility changes and technology enhancements dictate.
