Egan Hub Storage, LLC (Egan Hub) received approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to develop and operate a new 8 bcf working gas capacity (10.5 Bcf total capacity) salt dome storage cavern (Cavern #3), a 16.52-mile, 24-inch diameter header, modifications to existing facilities (Texas Eastern Metering & Regulating station and East Metering & Regulating station), and associated facilities.
The Egan Storage Facility is located on the Jennings Salt Dome in Evangeline, LA, (Acadia Parish). The completion of Cavern #3 will increase Egan Hub's ability to provide firm storage services and interruptible hub services meeting the demand for storage in this region. The initial phase of Egan Cavern #3 was placed into service in 2009 with an initial 6.0 Bcf of working capacity. Construction is underway on the associated facilities. The cavern was placed into final service in the second half of 2011.
