Strategically located on the Gulf Coast near Henry Hub, the Bobcat Gas Storage assets complement our existing pipeline and storage portfolio in the region, providing Spectra Energy with a platform for significant future storage growth and customers with the flexibility to access major markets in the United States.

The scope of this project involves:

  • Two caverns currently under construction totaling 19.8 Bcf of working capacity (9.9 Bcf per cavern).
  • Installing additional compression facilities to support sale of expansion capacity.
  • Pipeline looping to Texas Eastern and Florida Gas Transmission.
  • Upgrades to five existing metering and regulating stations.

Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approval for one additional cavern totaling 9.9 Bcf is currently under development.

Once Bobcat is fully developed, Spectra Energy's total North American working storage capacity will be about 340 Bcf.
