DCP Midstream gathers, treats, compresses, processes, transports, markets and stores natural gas. Additionally, DCP Midstream produces, fractionates, transports, trades and markets natural gas liquids (NGLs). In fact, DCP Midstream is the largest producer of NGLs in the U.S. and one of the top three largest natural gas gatherers and processors.
The Denver-based company operates in 18 states, across eight of the major U.S. natural gas regions. DCP Midstream gathers raw natural gas through 60,000 miles of gathering pipe and processes it through 60 owned or operated plants.
Through DCP Midstream's 10 fractionating facilities, the market leader separates NGLs from the raw natural gas and "fractionates" the liquids into its individual ethane, propane, butane and natural gasoline components.
DCP Midstream owns the General Partnership of DCP Midstream Partners, LP, a master limited partnership. DCP Midstream is a 50-50 joint venture between Spectra Energy and ConocoPhillips.
