Spectra Energy to Host Annual Shareholders Meeting on May 8

HOUSTON – Spectra Energy Corp will hold its annual meeting of shareholders on Thursday, May 8, 2008. The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. CST at the company’s corporate headquarters at 5400 Westheimer Court, Houston.

In accordance with the requirements for advance notice set forth in the company’s by-laws, in order for a director nomination or a shareholder proposal made outside of Rule 14a-8 under the Exchange Act to be considered timely within the meaning of the company’s by-laws and Rule 14a-4(c) under the Exchange Act, such nomination or proposal must be received by the company at its principal executive offices at 5400 Westheimer Court, Houston, TX 77056 on or before February 18, 2008. Nominations or proposals should be directed to the attention of the Corporate Secretary.
