HOUSTON - Spectra Energy Corp (NYSE: SE) today announced Tim Kennedy has been appointed vice president of federal government affairs for Canada. In his capacity, Kennedy will be responsible for all federal Canadian government affairs activities and public policy issues that affect the company, ensuring alignment with Spectra Energy's business operations and strategic objectives within both Canada and the U.S. This is a new position within the company, based in Ottawa.

"Tim's leadership and advocacy on behalf of Spectra Energy in Ottawa will help ensure that our industry will be able to meet the challenges and opportunities ahead with a clear message and a strong voice."
Before joining Spectra Energy, Kennedy served as director, natural resources and environment, for Global Public Affairs, Inc., a consulting company. Prior to that, he was a legislative assistant for the Canadian government and also worked for the Canadian Environment Network. Kennedy received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Theory from the University of Toronto.
